WHAT A HYBRID SYSTEM IS
Several energy sources, one controller
Solar PV integration
Solar supplies daytime load first, so generators run less and the grid supplies less. We engineer the inverters, protection and controls so solar works with generators and storage without tripping them.
Battery energy storage (BESS)
A battery stores surplus solar, shaves demand peaks and covers short loads, so generators start less often and run at an efficient load when they do.
Hybrid & off-grid microgrids
Where there is no grid, or the grid isn't reliable, we combine solar, storage and diesel into a self-contained power station run by one controller.
Mains & grid synchronisation
For grid-connected sites, generators and storage run in parallel with the mains, export within network limits, and keep the site running in island mode if the grid fails
Hydro integration
Where water is available, small hydro provides renewable base load. We balance it against storage and diesel so supply stays steady as flows change.
Smart control, SCADA & monitoring
One power management system decides which sources run and how hard. SCADA and remote monitoring show you what the system is doing, and let our engineers support it from Melbourne.
HOW IT WORKS

- Keeps generators above minimum load to avoid wet stacking
- Islands the site cleanly when the mains fails
- Limits export and curtails solar when storage is full
